DAVIS COUNTY, Utah — A driver hauling a motor home led Davis County Sheriff’s Deputies on a chase that finally came to an end in Salt Lake County.

The chase began at about 6:30 p.m. when a Davis County deputy attempted to pull the driver over for a traffic violation, according to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office. Salt Lake City Police, Murray City Police and the Utah Highway Patrol joined Davis County personnel for the chase, which reached speeds of up to 70 mph.

Police set up spikes on the 1-15 off-ramp at 5300 South. The driver avoided the spikes somehow but crashed into a car at the bottom of the ramp.

Police cornered the suspect and initiated a high risk stop. The suspect refused to exit the vehicle, and he was bitten twice by a K-9 police dog and hit once with a taser before he was subdued. There were no other injuries.

The driver, 27-year-old Michael Webb, was booked into the Davis County Jail.
