Snow impacts morning commute for Wasatch Front

Snow will impact the commute across portions of the Wasatch Front Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter storm warning for heavy snow and strong winds remains in effect until 4 a.m. Thursday.

Snow accumulation of one to two feet is expected, with some areas getting amounts higher than three feet, according to NWS.

Ogden has been one of the hardest hit areas of the Wasatch Front. The city has seen six inches to one foot of snow every day since late Sunday. Crews have been working non-stop to keep up with the snow removal.

Little Cottonwood Canyon closed at 6:30 a.m. and will reopen at approximately 8:30 a.m., according to @CanyonAlerts. Big Cottonwood Canyon is restricted to 4x4 or vehicles using chains.

The Forest Service Utah Avalanche Center has issued a special avalanche advisory for areas of Northern Utah including the Bear River Range, the western Uintahs and the Manti-Skyline Plateau.
