St. LOUIS -- A little girl in St. Louis sent a letter to her Granny in Utah, and even though it lacked a stamp and a name on the envelope the Post Office still delivered it somehow.

Katrina Jensen wrote her grandmother a letter on her new Hello Kitty stationary, but she left out an important detail.

“I just forgot a stamp,” she said.

USPS Communication Manager Valerie Welsch said the letter was probably let through despite lacking a stamp as an act of kindness.

“I think that somebody probably figured out it was a child writing and went ahead and let it go through, from the goodness of their heart,” she said.

Katrina’s grandmother, Kay Jensen, was surprised the letter made it to her.

“I thought, you know, this was something really special that a series of people did, and these aren’t people who knew each other even," she said. "It wasn’t like ‘hey, will you do this for me?’ It just, from one stranger to another, they all saw a little girl trying to send some love to her Nana."

Katrina used to live next door to her grandmother in Utah, but her parents moved her to St. Louis to attend the Central Institute for the Deaf because they said she was falling behind in a traditional school.
