Man arrested after domestic stabbing in Herriman

HERRIMAN, Utah - A Herriman was arrested after allegedly stabbing his wife, running from officers and crashing his car.

According to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal, a woman was stabbed in the arm by her husband at the an apartment complex located at 5605 West and 11830 South in Herriman at around 9 p.m. Saturday. 

The woman was able to get out of the apartment with her children and go to a nearby Chevron to call police.

"She grabbed the four children that were in the apartment, left the apartment, went across the street to a chevron where she called for help," said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.

Police say that when they got to the apartment, the suspect was gone.

Hoyal says the suspect crashed his car, hitting a barrier, near Highways 201 and 202, then pulled into a field and tried to hide from police.

Police were able to catch him and taken him into custody. He is now in jail on one count of aggravated assault and four counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child.
