SALT LAKE CITY -- Gov. Herbert and other Utah leaders took the oath of office Monday at the Utah State Capitol.

The ceremony included an artillery salute, a fly-over from the Air National Guard and a performance from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

"I'm keenly aware that this is an historic time. We are confronted by decisions that will set our course for generations to come," Herbert said in his inauguration speech.

Former Governor Jon M. Huntsman Jr. was among the dignitaries in attendance at the inauguration ceremony and gave his prediction for Herbert's new term.

"We've been through some tough years, but there are some very, very good years ahead and I think Gary's going to manage his way forward in a way that will make all Utahns proud," Huntsman said

Lt. Gov. Greg Bell, State Treasurer Richard Ellis and State Attorney General John Swallow were also inaugurated Monday.

Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams was sworn in a separate ceremony at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center.
