SALT LAKE CITY - Salt Lake City is preparing for their three-night New Year's Eve celebration at the Gallivan Center.
Travelocity ranked Salt Lake City as one of the top ten places to go for New Year's Eve, partly because its EVE celebration is a three-day event...there's just too much to do in one night. There will be a mix of local and national bands, fireworks and art displays.
"The focus this year is primarily on music; we have three nights of live music. Chic Chic Chic plays on the last night, we have Blind Pilot and Nick Waterhouse and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band playing over the days," said Nick Como, communication director for the Downtown Alliance.
The celebration will be spread over several downtown locations, but the Gallivan Center is at the heart of it.
The Downtown Alliance expects 30,000 people will take part in the festivities.
The event lasts Saturday through Monday. At the Gateway, there will be a family festival from 3 to 7 p.m. Activities at the Gallivan Center start at 7 p.m.
