Snowstorm moves over northern Utah

Communities in northern Utah are getting some lake enhanced snow through Sunday afternoon.

The western half of Salt Lake and northeast Tooele counties can expected between one and two inches of new snow, according to the National Weather Service.  In the afternoon, the skies are expected to clear out.

Overnight, the Salt Lake Valley received three and a half inches of snow. Utah Department of Transportation is working to clear roads, especially in Tooele County. Some areas may be icy.

Another storm system is expected to movein after the morning commute on Monday.

Rocky Mountain Power reported approximately 18,000 residents without power through Saturday night. Crews were able to repair the lines throughout Sunday morning and early afternoon.

The ski resorts also received several inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Alta and Snowbird both got 11 inches of snow. Brighton has a fresh 12 inches; Solitude got 10 inches. In Summit County, The Canyons got 10 inches of snow in the last 24 hours. Park City and Deer Valley both got 6 inches.
