SALT LAKE CITY - A Salt Lake County man was arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in the Sugarhouse area.

42-year-old Sean Olsen was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail after TV news tipsters saw security video of a break-in at a bicycle shop and identified him as the possible suspect. Olsen is now the prime suspect in at least 10 burglaries in Sugarhouse.

"This person, this alert member of the community who saw the video recognized the person and provided the tip to police that made this all possible," said Salt Lake City Police Det. Dennis McGowan.

Wayne Baxter, who gave police the surveillance video of the smash-and-grab robbery at Fisher's Bike Shop in Sugarhouse, is relieved that the culprit may have been caught and that no one was injured.

"Again, knowing he's off the street and that the community got together and that it did help this time," Baxter said.

The arrest is Olsen's 27th into the Salt Lake County Jail. He's an ex-convict who's been to prison seven times.
