Man sought in connection with SLC stabbing

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City police are looking for a man they say attempted to rob a restaurant in Salt Lake City before allegedly stabbing a bystander and fleeing the scene.

The incident happened at the El Asadero restaurant at 1011 West North Temple.

Police say a man attempted to rob the restaurant when another man tried to intervene. The suspect stabbed the bystander and fled the scene. He left on a bicycle and is considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect then reportedly got into a fight with another man and the two fought from the restaurant to a nearby Seven-11, then to the parking lot of a Payless Shoe Store. The fight ended with the victim getting stabbed in the torso.

The suspect is described as having dirty blonde hair and a hoodie.

Police are looking for a white male with dirty blond hair. He was riding a white mountain bike. Anyone with information is urged to call (801) 799-3000 or text the information and the word TIPSLCPD to 274637.
