Shoppers flocked to area retail stores Thursday evening and all day Friday to get their hands on this years's Black Friday deals.

Stores like Toys-R-Us, Walmart and Target opened their doors at 8 or 9 p.m. Thursday, and some stores had hundreds of people waiting in line to get the earliest deals.

Some consider the bargain-shopping a sport and have their strategies planned out before arriving at stores.

"That's what it's all about. You know, you gotta come prepared. You gotta know what you're shopping for. There's a jacket over at Fanzz. 95 dollars, I'm getting it for 30. You gotta know where you're going. Victoria's Secret - some perfume usually sells about 75, I'm getting it for 30," said one shopper who was waiting in line Thursday night.

Those shopping for Christmas gifts still have 32 days to do so.
