SALT LAKE CITY – Big changes are in store for northern Utah this weekend as strong winds and snow head in.
FOX 13 meteorologist Brett Benson says there will be some precipitation coming to Utah late Thursday night, and that will strengthen by Friday.
There will be precipitation in the valley throughout Sunday, starting out as rain then becoming snow as the weekend progresses.
There is a winter storm warning in effect for most of the mountains in Utah, and some parts of the Uintah Mountains are forecasted to get between one and three feet of snow.
In the benches, forecasts show 2-5 inches, and between 1-3 inches are predicted for the valley floor.
