SALT LAKE CITY - Two teenagers were shot while sitting in a car outside of a Salt Lake City coffee shop Sunday.

Police said the teens were inside a Mazda hatchback at a coffee shop near 600 East and 2100 South in Salt Lake City at approximately 8:30 p.m.

A 17-year-old girl was shot in the cheek and an 18-year-old man was shot twice.

They were able to drive about a block away to a Shell gas station, were they made it inside and called for help.

"From witnesses it sounds like there were two vehicles, maybe talking, don't know. One vehicle attempted to leave and shots were fired," said Lt. Carl Merino, Salt Lake City Police.

The teens were taken to separate hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. They are both expected to recover.

Police are still looking for the suspects behind this shooting. They say when the victims recover enough to give a statement, they will know more about the suspects.
