SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff confirms to FOX 13 he is dropping his highly-publicized lawsuit over college football’s Bowl Championship Series.
Shurtleff said the BCS has changed, including putting in a playoff system. The attorney general said he still maintains there is enough for an anti-trust case against the BCS, and was skeptical whether any changes made would really be “pro-competitive.”
Shurtleff initially threatened to sue over the BCS system, claiming it was a monopoly that prevented smaller schools from playing in bowl games.
