WEST JORDAN, Utah -- This week, Jordan School District will finish installing GPS systems on their fleet of yellow buses.

The Jordan School District will put GPS systems in every one of their over 200 buses. It has not been an easy task to keep track of all of them at once, but they are hoping this new system will make it easier both for school administrators and parents alike.

"It's like herding cats, I would say. There's no real science to it and everyone has their own way to do it.," says Jordan School's Transportation Systems technician Jeremy Wardle.

The units will give administrators real-time information on where buses are, where they've been, and how fast they are going.

"It will pay for itself over time and provide us with a lot of valuable information and data that will keep our kids safer and help us manage our fleet and make it much more efficient," said Jordan School District Transportation Director Herb Jensen.
