Nothing harmful found in suspicious package

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say a suspicious package found Thursday morning was not a threat.

The bomb squad had been called out to detonate a black briefcase at 157 W Pierpont Ave., said Det. Weichman, Salt Lake City Police. The briefcase did not contain anything harmful.

No evacuations or road closures were put into effect.
