LEVAN, Utah – Utah Highway Patrol says one person died and two others were injured after their SUV rolled on State Road 28 near Levan, Utah in Juab County.

Troopers say that the vehicle’s passenger, Amanda Higgins, 29, from Spanish Fork, was killed.

The driver, 37-year-old Amy Bott, suffered critical injuries along with passenger Amanda Worthington, 23, from Orem. Two others were treated for minor injuries.

Troopers say that their Ford Excursion was traveling on the highway heading northbound and was passing a semi with double trailers. They say the SUV had to swerve to avoid an oncoming semi.

UHP says they swerved to the left and went off the roadway and, once the southbound semi passed, the Ford over-corrected to the right and rolled back onto the roadway striking the rear trailer of the northbound semi.

The SUV rolled several times ejecting two people from the vehicle.
