RIVERTON, Utah - Family, friend and community members participated in a bike ride Saturday morning in honor of Cathi Turner, who died after a bike accident near Camp Williams last weekend.

Among the riders were Michele Maughan, who was riding with Cathi when she died last week, and Wolfgang Schwurack, who was the first to respond to the accident.

"I'm completing what she couldn't. She started it and didn't finish it but we're gonna finish it for her," said Maughan.

Cathi's Ride is both a memorial of the woman, but also a celebration of her life and one of her favorite activities. Family, friends and even strangers who were touched by Cathi's story gathered to take the ride.

"I personally never knew her but I feel a connection just because I was there," said Schwurack.

Riders tied purple ribbons on their bikes in honor of Cathi.

"These ribbons that we're just tying on our bikes in memory of Cathi," said Maughan. "She told me when we're old ladies together we're going to wear purple."
