Participation in the Summer Nutrition Programs continues to fall short in Utah. Summer meals only reached 15 children for every 100 low-income children who got regular school year meals in the 2010-2011 school year, according to Utahns Against Hunger (UAH).

"They just show up to a site and they get to eat," said Marti Woolford, Utahns Against Hunger. Woolford said it is free for children 18 years old and younger and there is no paper work or registration required.

There are close to 200 summer food service sites around Utahthis summer, located in 26 different school districts, according UAH.
