Diamond Pet Foods announced a recall of some pet food brands due to potential salmonella contamination.

The recall affects several brands of dog and cat food. According to the recall website, the food was not directly distributed to Utah, but the food may have reached Utah through other pet food channels.

The pet food brands affected by the recall were manufactured in a Gaston, South Carolina facility between December 9, 2011 and April 7, 2012.

Consumers are encouraged to check diamondpetrecall.com for the production codes and best-before dates on the bags of recalled food.
