Tobacco use is one of the leading causes of preventable death in the United States.  Smoking kills more than 1200 Utahns each year.

Dr. Karen Wilson, from the American Academy of Pediatrics, spoke on Good Day Utah Wednesday about Utah's tobacco prevention and control program.

"The tobacco industry has not given up on Utah," said Wilson.  "The tobacco industry spends about $49 million a year on their efforts in Utah to promote tobacco."
