HEBER -- Homestead Resort is making some changes to its golf course nestled in Heber Valley. The old course is getting renovated.

The golf course is getting a new name -- Crater Springs.

The crater is where tourists and residents get scuba certified and enjoy diving. Owner Steve Eddington says he's going to take advantage of the crater's mineral water

“We have a water feature coming above greens number nine and eighteen that's going to cascade down into two ponds right in front of holes number nine and eighteen. And so the sand trap that's located there now is going to be replaced with these beautiful ponds,” says Eddington.

The upgrades will extend to leveling tee boxes, changing the direction of holes one and ten to make it more playable while keeping the course challenging. But the golf course isn't the only part of the resort that's getting an upgrade.

“We put in new beds, new mattresses, new carpeting, new television, new soft goods, new linens, that sort of thing so our customers when they come here will have the same feeling in the past at the Homestead, but in a more refreshing way,” said Eddington.
