Local dancers are using their talents to benefit the Utah Food Bank with the Will Dance for Kids charity event.

For the past few months, hundreds of dancers from across the Salt Lake Valley have been competing to raise money and collect food donations.

As part of the project, they performed in a dance competition at Taylorsville High School Saturday. They were able to raise $15,000 and all proceeds benefited the Utah Food Bank.

"We have so much participation that we're just thrilled. We have great vendors who are volunteering their time, most of the stuff here helping us at the project are volunteering their time, everyone is putting their best foot forward to help us raise funds for our project," said Penny Broussard, Director of the Will Dance for Kids project.

Dance studios who raised the most money received prizes, including a dance scholarship to Italy.
