A 6-year-old Whittier Elementary student got the surprise of her young life Friday as she was telling her classmates what she wanted the most for her birthday -- her father back home.

Just as she was doing show-and-tell in class, Bailey Page's father, Sgt. Adam Page, walked in to surprise her after coming back from his Afghanistan deployment.

"Dad! how did you make it? How did you make it?" Bailey yelled before she is swooped up by her father's arms.

Sgt. Page was just redeployed to Utah and his first mission was to give his daughter the best birthday present he could think of.

"I'm happy. Happy birthday," Bailey's father says. Bailey replies: "that's my only birthday present I wanted is you."

Everyone, including Bailey's teacher, the faculty, and Bailey's mother, came together to plot out the surprise as a gift for Bailey.

Sgt. Page has served in the military for several years and he will start, for the first time, to live with his family in their West Valley City home since Bailey was born.
