The struggling University of Utah men’s basketball team topped Arizona State Saturday afternoon for their fifth win of the season.

Less than a week after losing top scorer Josh “Jiggy” Watkins because of rule violations, Utah (5-14, 2-5 Pac-12) shot 53 percent from the field and behind the 3-point line.

Cedric Martin topped the scores for the Utes with 17 points and Chris Hines added 14. The two combined to hit nine 3-point shots.

Kareem Storey added 12 points and Jason Washburn scored 10 points and caught 6 rebounds for Utah in the 64-43 victory over the Sun Devils.

Arizona State (6-13, 2-5 Pac-12) shot just 39 percent from the field and 20 percent from behind the arc in the game.

The Utes head to Los Angeles to play UCLA (10-8, 3-3 Pac-12) next Thursday at 8:30 p.m. MST.
